Early Years

Romain Muhammad’s journey into championing diversity and inclusion began in his formative years. Growing up in a multicultural community, he witnessed first-hand the challenges faced by marginalised groups and the resilience they exhibited in overcoming systemic barriers. These early experiences ignited his passion for addressing inequality and laid the foundation for his lifelong commitment to fostering understanding and equity in society.

Education & Research

Romain’s academic journey has been pivotal in shaping his expertise in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). As an Aziz Foundation Scholar at Birkbeck, University of London, his research delves into the histories of ‘race’ and racism, culture, ethnicity, and diaspora in post-war Britain. His studies offer critical insights into the systemic inequalities that persist today and inform his approach to driving meaningful change through evidence-based strategies.

A Passion for Enterprise

Romain’s early years were marked by his drive to bridge gaps and create opportunities for underrepresented groups.
